    Your Big Dog’s holiday plate:

Plain turkey; no skin, no bones, no gravy. Raw or roasted sweet potatoes & carrots. Canned or fresh green beans. corn & pumpkin. Fresh or frozen cranberries in moderation. Celery stalks.

Dogs are Gods way of apologizing for our relatives.

With this sentiment in mind, let’s make a Thanksgiving Day centered around our REAL PACK.

Our Big Dogs have a small checklist prepared in case you ask “How, oh how, can I make this Thanksgiving Day more enjoyable and comfortable for my Big Dog”?

    Turkey day Pop quiz:

What can your Big Dog safely eat from your Thanksgiving feast?

10 or more points- you pass with flying turkeys!!

Truth & Lies of your Big Dog’s Turkey Day

They are Big Dogs, we know they are going to lie about being good and immediately start giving the “starving” EYES to everyone they encounter today.

Establish house rules for your guests to avoid Big Dog receiving toxic foods, overeating and GAS!!!

    Situation:

Didn’t Dad already give you Turkey?

    “No” -LIE

I saw Uncle Vern hand you cheese.

    “No” -LIE

Did GrandFurMa give you a cookie? “No” -LIE

Solution 1: All tidbits family members want to donate to the Big Dogs go in one bowl to be determined later what will safely go down his gullet without coming back up, out the other end or smelling like it did.

A tradition you can share with your Big Dog on Turkey Day

You’re expected at Great Aunt Beatrice’s, but Big Dog is no longer welcome after last year’s tackling of the Turkey.

Big Dog grumbling. “Yes, I know you say it was a fumble, so therefore legal. But technically it wasn’t in her hands because it was on a platter and she was going down, because she tripped over you laying in her kitchen doorway”.

Including your Big Dog slowly and safely, in the Thanksgiving fun

    Tips-
Let her check out the fall decor.

Allow one or two friends and relatives to come up to her at a time.

Give your Big Dogs a place to go if the noise and sounds are a bit too much.  Check on her more often than usual.
Include her in a few of the games and events. Give him his own “appetizers”. Put her away during the meal to prevent guests from handing her questionable tidbits.
