What’s happening in the world of Big Dogs:

Pet Parents are spending Big Bucks on their Big Dogs, how you can jump into the Cash Flow!

Why is the future of the Pet Retail industry growing so big there is no end in sight? Why are Sales continuing to skyrocket, with the markets ever expandingproduct renovations? Why are Pet influencers becoming increasingly popular for boosting ratings of their highly touted, chosen products?

Because the family dog is now a family member, and fur parents are wanting the same special amenities as for the rest of their children. Food developed to fit their diet, clothing and accessories personalized for them and health and wellness products and services designed to incorporate their needs.

Pet product companies are evolving as fast as possible to meet these wants and needs of pet owners. They have to if they want their share, sales growth is expected to double again by 2030, with projections off the charts of other sales revenues. Today’s pet owners demand more: more options, customized & personalized options, sustainable and innovative options. In solutions, services and products.

Pet brick and mortar stores can be among the few walk-in businesses left standing at the end of the online shopping takeover but only if they have embraced the concepts of incorporating other pet services.

Canine product consumers want their dogs with them and pet retailers guarantee acceptance. Other smart businesses are doing the same. Dog owners want to enjoy the luxury of shopping online AND including their pets on an outing into the premises catered to their fur babies. These stores are one of the few retailers who can entice their customers out of their homes on a regular basis, through grooming services, doggy daycare, training, dog boutiques and bakeries. There to spend quality time with their pooch during events and activities, purchase the newest products, receive services or just show them off to fellow shoppers and neighbors.

Owners want more available in every dog concern:

pet friendly hotels, restaurants, vacation spots, parks and facilities.

comprehensive healthcare, wellness and fitness services, advanced medical treatments for their aging and senior pets.

legal services for their beloved pets as well; veterinary coverage, life insurance, legal representation, as they are being written into wills, receiving care after owners are passed.

As social media affects so many areas of people’s lives, so to in their dog’s. A retailer’s reach can go further with an influencer’s agreement; their platform promoting products, companies, newest services and trends.

Technology is offering a smarter, richer life for dogs and their families. Medical innovations able to foresee their needs, access progress and improve outcomes. Apps to monitor, track and locate pets. Products that make pet care easier; automatic feeders, smart toys, automated doors & cleaners.

With all the advances, pets are the clear winners. Able to do more, with the newest products and technologies, services and locations. Shared, researched and talked about the most on social media. Owners are choosing their canines as their significant other, best friends and children. With good reason why, they are the friends that always have their back, partner that never complains, the always content child, and being treasured for it equals big, big, big sales.

This week’s Topic at the fire hydrant:

A BIG, Big Dog Mastiff Pack!

BigDog’sBlog: You have to shake your head and ask Rick again, just in case you misunderstood, he didn’t just say multiple digits in his Mastiff pack did he?

Yep, 9 plus a 4 month old puppy! Rick Starr, a Mastiff owner and breeder for over 20 years, talks about his massive Mastiff 10 pack:

Rick: “When it’s just among the dogs, you don’t have to worry about the pack leader nonsense, they have their own functional hierarchy. Dogs are domesticated with instilled natural traits, I don’t want to diminish their instincts or heritage”.

“Kubota, is 9.5, brother & sister Kyoshi, Kensho 6. Alpha Komatsu is 5. Five that are all 3: Kolbelco, Kato, Kobe, Kenji & Kempo. Last but certainly not least Kaida, the baby at 4 months”.

“Kubota, the senior, stays back with the fort and family, while Alpha dog Komatsu 5, leads outside and she keeps the other 9 in order, halting the chaos when she thinks there is too much rough housing going on inside”.

BDB: “Speaking of roughhousing, HOW with 10 dogs”?!?

Rick: “It’s organized crazy; a lot of cleaning, not 1 minute of privacy -not while mowing the lawn, cooking or watching tv- and at least 5 with me on all errands”.

BDB: “Talk about raising your dogs”.

Rick: “I want true dogs, not robots. I don’t over medicate, they receive what is necessary initially and I monitor their immunity levels as they grow, implementing as needed. Keeping mine away from dangerous areas such as dog parks to avoid risks of illnesses from unvaccinated pets”.

“We also reduce their anxiety by concentrating on socialization. Numerous people, scenarios, situations and environments keep them comfortable anywhere”.

“We take good care of them and raise them as one big happy family”.

BDB: “Any tension amongst that many? With mine, Maggie Moomoo and Pawllyanna her teenager, seem to always be squabbling about something”.

Rick: “Not between the girls. The brothers, Kato @ 195 and 34” and Kempo 175, 36” flex and growl occasionally as the dominant boys but it’s more sibling rivalry. Only once in a blue moon actually tangling, with Kato winning as the beast of the bunch”.

BDB: “Any last woofs”?

Rick: “Worth every minute”!

About Rick Starr,

About Big Dogs Blog

Which are Giant & Large Breeds?

Giant Breeds are the ones that compell you to say “That’s a big assed dog”!!!
Closer to pony heights than dog sizes, over a hundred pounds. Such as the Bernese Mountain Dog, Great Dane, St. Bernard, Leonberger, Irish Wolfhound, Newfoundland and most of the Mastiff breed.

Large breeds are bigger than typical dogs, 70 -100lbs; Giant Schnauzer, German Shepherd, Doberman, Rottweiler -too many to list but all popular! Big Dogs are also “larger than life” little dogs with GIANT personalities! Does your toy breed think he’s 4’? He’s a BIG DOG too!

Why should you follow Big Dogs Blog?

By following Big Dog‘s Blog, you can immerse yourself in real, big dog life experiences. Some stories will help you decide if a big dog is right for your family. Some will provide fellow commiserators on big dog breed’s trials and tribulations, if you already own one. And others will be an opportunity for fur parents to share the laughter over the joys and antics big dog breeds bring you everyday. You will also get 800lbs. of glimpses into what living with multiple house hippos is like in our hous!

Who am I?

The indentured but loyal servant to 4 Mastiffs, a passionate dog blogger who loves to write about their antics. A dog mom who grew up in the big dog community; breeding, training and showing. A writer on dog health and care, foods to medical emergencies and comedy routines, I cover it all. Plus the herd’s paparazzi, they believe all dogs should have at least one! (way, way, way too many pictures, no wonder the herd thought their blog should have a selfie booth)!
