The herd has their favorites and we have ours for taking care of them. Big Dog parents want products that are eco friendly, good for our babies’ heart, mind and body. Advanced, with technology that helps keep track of them, keeps them safe and makes our life as a furparent easier. We’d like personalized, specialized and trendy items that match the rest of the family.
Big Dogs need mostly the same as any dog…..only bigger, tougher and more! From crates and kennels to toys and medical supplies, we will share what we like that has held up against our house hippos over the years.
This XXL kennel had the most room with a partition a dozen years ago. I don’t know if any bigger have come out, because I haven’t had to look! It’s still standing and doing great for as many big dogs have went through it!
Ordered thru Chewy, we love the easily movable partition that can move as she grow, giving her just enough room to relax-but not enough to have a bedroom and ensuite!
These are the biggest and best, with a color change stripe that alerts you it is damp.
unfortunately Huck has gained a few pounds over what they can comfortably handle. I still use them, just inside his belly bands now.
Hucky Ducky has always been super athletic and with 3 girls in his life, his weight goes up and down. With a trim waist they were a little snug but I appreciated they didn’t move. Now as a senior, slowing down and gaining, I don’t want the pressure on his tummy, so they slip into his belly bands and I adjust the Velcro pads perfectly.
Available thru multiple ETSY artists, the ones we use are by KarisFancyPups, she has the best bands that have a thick square of Velcro that even makes wrapping it around a moving target easy!
Super soft so Huck doesn’t mind wearing them, and has never pulled them off like some diapers he didn’t appreciate. Now that Huckleberry is a senior, we lay diapers inside just in case.
$20. each, well made, washable, multiple colors and quick delivery. She’s got a 4.9 rating!
These bed covers are a little short of fitting over a full mattress!!! Super tough, military duffle bag look and color -our favorite, others available. Our dogs like them full and mostly full just the same (I tried both for their preference), spot washable and can go in washer.
I have had a puppies super sharp nail go through, didn’t do much damage but never one of the big dog’s. Huckleberry drags it around the house somehow but 0 damage to the cover, the furniture he runs it into though ……

I found this collar for big dogs on Amazon after years of searching on the web- they had the perfect fit for my herd! I always look up military grade first, then handle, thickness and then hope it at least has a red for girls (IF I find something close, it’s always black). Score! Colors, easy to grab handle, wide AND under $50!
I don’t mind paying for quality but we go through a lot of collars! Not anymore!!!
Adityna heavy duty collars, my fourth in my cart right now, for the baby -Tinkerbell #Aditynadogcollars #dogcollars #bigdogcollars #dogcollarswhandles #bigdogs #bigdogsblog #dogs #mastiffs #doglife #puppy
This filler fills up 1 and a half of our giant dog bed covers, which for us is great but even better is it stays filled with 200 pounds snoring, jumping and fighting on it!
Almost no smell the first day and gone by 2nd, the beds are still fat and full a year and maybe a half later and the bags are manageable, a problem I had with the last.
Made from shredded gel memory foam Polyfil 10lbs.
Our grand fur baby, Nila, a toy breed with BIG DOG personality, gained way too much weight as a senior. They didn’t want to change anything as she was still with us at 14 years but her weight wasn’t helping. With Farmer’s Dog, she lost 35% of her body weight!!! With portion control and great taste obviously to still make her happy, she is still our little hot dog but now looking more like one and less like a stuffed sausage!
A healthy weight is one more way to keep her going in her advanced years.

It’s not a necessity for dogs, but it gives me comfort with our herd of Mastiffs, the chiming of the dog’s bells around their necks.
We live on an old Amish farm out in the countryside, no neighbors and plenty of room to run. We encourage them to, wanting them to go be dogs. But I do want to know where they are - especially at night when I can’t see them.
Each of the dogs have a small “cow” bell on their collars and I give them to my fur parents who have farms also.
I have several posts about BIG DOG toys, in each I mention Kongs, the only toy I can wholeheartedly recommend because none of our herd of Mastiffs or Bulldogs have managed to eat one! Some are looking a little rough but they are favorites and I wouldn’t dream of throwing them away! Sometimes with a little peanut butter inside it, they are the difference between me getting a 5 minute shower or a 20 minute one!
Was ?!?! our personal favorite……
This started out in my jeep for Huckleberry, just a extra precaution with him roaming the back with the top off.
Then it went in the side by side with Hilda to ensure no jumping out.
Next was Maggie Moo’s turn in the truck…..
All of our dogs have used it, some still do, just piece of mind if you have a puppy or a jumper while driving around the farm or in town.
It is a puppy shampoo but I still use it once they are grown. It’s tearless, smells nice, lathers well and cleans great!
It’s for sensitive skin, Huckster once had a rash and I switched to it and never had a problem again. I like those odds and I like their products, why wouldn’t my dog?
The price of $55. is for both jars, I use them simultaneously to cover any vitamins and minerals lacking in their diet.
